Pieces of Me – an abandoned early version of Cressa’s pageant song: And the Road it Went On..

I started the project two years ago now of making songs for the Renaissance of Self book series. I’ve posted teasers of And the Road it Went On… covering just the events that we’ve already seen happen in Part 1: The Escape but there is so much more to the song and it moves me every time I listen.

But this, was from an earlier idea, one that instead of connecting each event with the idea that the road continued on, Cressa was counting the moments that she surrendered a piece of herself to someone.

In order to test Gemini’s song creation feature, I plugged that older version in and got this brief little peak. There is something that I connect with in Cressa’s singer-songwriter style here but I’m glad the direction changed.

Bonus: this previous version makes a cameo in Part 3 – The Challenge as she sits with Seamus Culpepper, one of the pageant tutors with extensive music knowledge. She has a special session to aid in the composition of an original song that would meet the requirements of the Historical Sewing Society for the pageant’s talent portion.
